Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters, also known as Lazzara, was born February 28, 1948. She is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. She has appeared on films, television as well as musical theatre and individual concerts as well as recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. Critically acclaimed Broadway performer she has won seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She was awarded three. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway performances.



 



 Many consider Peters to be the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
