Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born at Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix was a natural athlete and discovered her love to sprint at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003 and became a part of Adidas a contract as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. She defended the title by beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
